This area comprises Hargeisa, the largest and the capital city of the region, Berbera, Gebiley, Zeila and Borama. Since late 80's there were two or may be three regions in this area for political reasons.
Hargeisa is The second largest city in Somalia. These days the capital city of "Somaliland". Very hard to say the number of people currently living in the city, however 1975 state census put a figure of 70,000 permanently live in the city. Berbera and Zeila are the other two cities in the area.
