Sabre Measurement Requirements

You must present new boats, or boats that have been subject to major re-construction, for measurement to a State Measurer to obtain a measurement certificate. Mr. Frank Landy of the Sugarloaf Sailing & Boating Club Inc. is the Sabre Sate Measurer for Victoria. Measurers for other States may be found at the Sabre Association web site. The State Measurer will submit measurement documentation to the National Measurer who will subsequently issue a measurement certificate.

Sails and foils will be marked as evidence of compliance.

Process:

You must apply for Victorian measurement by Email at: sugarloafsc@hotmail.com. The information required is:

Applicant's Name
Telephone Number
Boat Number
Proposed drop off day and date
Proposed pickup day and date

Boats may be left for measurement at the "Sabre Measurement" parking bays provided at the Sailing Club location on sailing days which are any Saturday or Sunday from 1 September to 30 May or any Wednesday. In the winter months, from 1 April through to 30 September, sailing days are alternate Sundays or again boats can be dropped off any Wednesday. Sailing day dates are shown at: Sailing Days .

Between 10:00 and 17:00.
If boats are dropped on a Wednesday morning every attempt will be made to measure on that day, otherwise boats will be measured on the Wednesday following the drop day. You will be provided with a full measurement report.

Cost:

The cost of measurement is $100 payable in advance by direct electronic transfer to a Sugarloaf Sailing & Boating Club Inc. account or by cheque. Account details will be sent on application. While the State Measurer and Sugarloaf Sailing & Boating Club Inc. will take as much care as practicable for all boats left at the Club, boats are parked on the understanding the Sugarloaf Sailing & Boating Club Inc. is not liable for any loss or damage.
