10th Anniversary Celebrations- SCATS AWARD CEREMONY - 03rd Novemeber 2002 at Stonington Theatre, Deakin University Campus, Toorak.
Chief Guest Professor Geoff Wilson - Vice Chancellor of the Deakin University, Australia.
Special Guest: Hon Gary Hardgrave- The Federl Minister for Citizenship and Multicultural Affairs representing Priminister of Australia.

Our Technology/Concept Transfer & Social Welfare Projects for 01/02
1) Our Major Project -
'SINGITHI SUVA SUREKUMA'
- International Appeal for the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital in Sri Lanka
(Fund Raising activities for 2002 were carried out over a three months period from 24th March to 24th June 02
A project that was initiated in year 2000 as an annual appeal in the style of the Good Friday Appeal for Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, we have already helped the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital in Colombo through essential equpment purchases to Emergency and Cardiac wards. We have already donated 03 Cardiac monitors& 03 Infusion Pumps requested by LRH in year 2000 and then the balance; an Advanced cardiac Monitor and a Medical/Clinical Microscope are on the way. All brnd new equpment that can be maintained and useable in Sri Lanka specially imported from Germany and Japan that has a market value of more than $50,000 and purchased at a special price of about $30,000. We thank all people and Associations who helped us in this project since year 2000.
Year 2002 appeal target - to Buy Complete Blood Gas Analyser and few Ventilators
(We are in the process of acquiring some of the above equipment from donations/collection from events($5500) while Blood Gas Analyser project may have to be postponed till 2003 due to high cost of such equipment)

Launch of the appeal for 2003in Australia will be done on 16th th March 2003 , at Clayton Hall. Melway 79 C2 - 1pm, during the Food Fair.
The money raised from this year's appeal will be used to purchase some urgently needed equipment for the Emergency Wards of the Lady Ridgeway Children's Hospital in Sri Lanka- the one and only Specialist Teaching hospital for kids in Sri Lanka.

SCATS Australia & SCATS Sri Lanka have initiated this Student Assistance Programme to help talented students from poor families in remote villages of Sri Lanka.For more details....

children whose parents do not have a reliable means of income. She is currently
a very talented student from Kandalama Maha Vidyalaya(Secondary School) in
Dambulla electorate in North Central Province in Sri Lanka.SCATS Foster Care
Student Assistance Programme will help her continue higher studies and fulfill
her ambitions.
