The Club's primary function is to host sporting activity of various kinds in the suburb of St Kilda, Melbourne Australia. The Club has a number of sporting sections. The clubhouse also has facilities for playing darts, snooker and table soccer.

Members see the club as an "old world" haven from the busy life of Fitzroy Street.

The bar is usually open from 4.00 pm to 1.00 am and at other times by arrangement. Drinks are at Club prices.

There is car parking in Albert Park beside the Club for people using Albert Park (the Club is part of the park) and the club has some parking at the rear for patrons.
