Mahony trained at the John
Bolton Theatre School. She has a Graduate Diploma in Animateuring from
the Victorian College of the Arts where she is currently studying for
an M.A.
Trained in visual arts, dance
and acrobatics, Mahony has performed in many outdoor theatre events
such as The Field with Strange Fruit, Ship of Dreams for St Kilda Festival
and Parade of the Suns for Brisbane Southbank First Anniversary Celebrations.
As an assistant director
and choreographer for Neil Cameron Productions Mahony was involved with
Carmina Burana and Songs of Fire for the Canberra Festival and Tower
of Life for the Melbourne International Festival. In
1999 Mahony recieved a professional development grant from the Australia
Council which enabled her to travel to the UK to work and perform with
Welfare State International theatre company.
Mahony’s experience in creating
and performing site-specific works has greatly enhanced Walk on Water’s
gestation at the Melbourne City Baths.
