The Yapeen Pub is a unique 1800's stone hotel building in a rural setting ten minutes' drive from Castlemaine and 20 minute from Daylesford.
Accommodation is basic but complete. The setting is rural and quiet - ideal for creative pursuits.
Yapeen is a small hamlet just outside Castlemaine, on the Daylesford road, a comfortable 90 minute drive from Melbourne, via Castlemaine.

The Yapeen Pub is available for weekend or weekday bookings.
Pet policy: Well-behaved dogs are allowed provided they bring their own beds and stay off the furniture. Please note that the area is rural, cattle are sometimes grazed nearby, and dogs should not be allowed to roam or be walked off-lead. The property is fenced with a low (1.2 metre approx) rabbitproof fence around 1/2 an acre. Dogs may only stay with prior approval: please contact me to discuss!

Instant gas hot water, fridge, gas range, small electric oven, indoor toilet, microwave, local phone calls, wood heater, council rubbish pickup. Town water with Level 4 water restrictions (tank for orchard).
Linen, towels, doonas, all provisions are BYO.

Please note: the pub is a work in progress. While facilities are adequate, the furnishings are not "luxury" level and the finishes throughout are rough. Rates are set to reflect this.
The pub is a private weekender for ourselves, friends and family; we hope you will enjoy it as much as them, and treat it with the same respect. Among other things, this includes respecting the neighbours and their animals, leaving the place as you found it (or cleaner if you like!!), particularly cleaning up after your dog and vacuuming up any fluff etc, and reporting breakages to us.
This is an ideal place for a quiet week or weekend away to sit by the fire, think, go for walks, read, write and talk, or go exploring nearby historic towns; if you are looking for a location to have a party, watch a sporting event on TV or similar, it won't suit you and you won't suit it. It's all about the character and the peace. :)
Rates:
$80/night - two night minimum
Weekly rate: $300/week
Longer stay discounts by negotiation. Payment is by cheque or bank transfer; cash only by advance agreement. No cards, sorry.
