VHF SECURE TELECOMMUNICATIONS AUST ARMY 1970'S STYLE
The whole kit and kaboodle was housed in a rather small shelter. Airconditioning -- unheard off just a couple of exhaust fans.
The flash looking teleprinter in between with lid off as usual so the elastic bands and matches could make it go!!

Mobile RATT -- 3TF Style
The vehicle concerned here was named "The Black Cat" because it always seemed to be 13th in the convoy. It was a successful mobile Comcen. The vehicle was concocted from a RAEME mobile workshop vehicle.
Note: All the squadron vehicles had names and were always referred to by their nicknames. Even the transport SGT would give instructions using these names. For example: Tunza, The Caper, Ernie, Bert, Apache to name a few. Why? Buggered if I know.
The communications were secure and travelled with TAC Headquarters.
The other side of the vehicle housed the paperwork and spare gear (As far as my memory goes). The whole show was powered by generators in trailers.
