Home of John Yabsley Wakeham

This was the home of John Yabsley Wakeham and was built in 1868.

Mr. Wakeham was a pioneer of Stawell, being the original storekeeper. He amassed his fortune as a share holder in a number of mines in Stawell.

Mr. Wakeham died at Stawell on 16.2.1872 aged 64 years.
