It is well known that chemotherapy for cancer results
in hair loss. The drugs are intended to attack any rapidly multiplying
cells, and a hair root fits this description perfectly. The effcect on the person's appearance and self-esteem can be drastic, particularly for women. To help these people, the Swan Hill Lions Club has created a lending "Wig Library", administered by a qualified hairdresser on behalf of the Club. It is available in Swan Hill and surrounding districts. To access it, inquiries should be directed to the Club's Wig Library Representative on (03) 50330441 (H) or (03) 50339297 (W). Alternatively the feedback page can be used (please give a contact phone number), but these inquiries will go to the Webmaster in Bendigo, and will take longer to process. (Of course, this idea is not new. For Sydneysiders, a Wig Library is available at the Liverpool Hospital. See their Web page.) | |
