Requests for Funding

The Lions Club's mission is service to its local community first, and fundraising second. Apart from commitments to Lions' national community projects and the occasional disaster relief appeal, money raised locally is spent locally for preference.

Except in urgent cases, accumulated funds are disbursed annually in June. To ensure consideration, forward detailed requests to reach

by 31 May. Requests always exceed available funds, and grants are entirely in the discretion of the Club. As a general rule, the following will NOT be considered:

• Applications for money to be spent within the territory of another
  Lions Club (apply to that Club);
• Applications where funding is available from an alternative source;
• Applications relating to ventures of a commercial or a purely personal
  nature (including funding for study);

but each application is considered on its merits. If in doubt, submit an application.
