The Myrtleford State
Emergency Service Headquarters
|
|
Built in 1994 the new headquarters of the Myrtleford
SES proved to be a god send. The old headquarters were located in Smith
Street and it was 60 years old and falling down. The new facility built
in Jubilee Avenue in the industrial estate boast four vehicle bays,
training and meeting rooms, administration area, communications room,
kitchen, toilets and general storage areas. Outside areas include
a concrete apron, training area and a state of the art, high angle rescue
tower. The land that the unit was built on was purchased from George
McPherson, by the Alpine Shire. Local donations were sourced to fit out the building
and a lot of volunteer labour to set up the gardens.
