The Marong Unit is one of three (3) units in the Greater City of Bendigo municipality, the others being at Bendigo and Heathcote.  Our operational area within the municipality covers the growing residential area of Maiden Gully and the township of Marong.  The setting of operational boundaries is still under review at this point in time.  The township of Marong is at the intersection of the major highways for traffic travelling to and from Melbourne and Adelaide, thus making it a busy site for "Driver Reviver" operations.

The two major water ways in the vicinity (Lake Eppalock and Cairn Curran Reservoir) become our responsibility with the Unit having FRB (Flood Rescue Boat) accreditation.   The Unit is often called on to support the Bendigo Unit in times of severe storm damage.

The Marong Unit provides core services in the following areas: Storm damage, Flood, Earthquake, Water Search, Land Search, Land Rescue and Water Rescue.

This Web Site
We have developed this web site to hopefully give you a better understanding of the VICSES and the many operations, exercises, projects and community events in which it's members are involved.  If you have any questions check out the Joining/Contact Us page.   Come along on a training night, even if it's just for a look, there is certainly no obligation to proceed any further.  You may not be interested but a friend certainly may be.
