Be Prepared

Of course prevention is always the best plan & while we don't always get notice of emergencies, we do often have some advance notice of storms, floods & other severe weather. Simple precautions such as putting away loose objects before a storm & managing trees & other hazards close to the house, can prevent severe damage to property & potential hazard to people. Take a walk around your property and list all those things that might become a hazard. Some things to look for include objects or even loose building materials that can be picked up by strong wind & trees that if they come down, might damage your home, property, or even block emergency access.  Above all, if you are driving - slow down, don't drive over the alcohol limit & please, don't drive like an idiot!
