Safety Advice

A recurring range of serious natural hazards affect Victoria. The State is known for its dangerous, intense bushfires which erupt during dry summers. Heatwaves, which often contribute to the cause of bushfires, also have fatal effects. Severe storms frequently create havoc and harm many communities while devastating floods are not uncommon either. Although far less common, the earthquake hazard exists in several areas and has potential to cause significant damage.
