Dear Friends,
we are a Reenactment Group from Germany/Saxony and represent a unit of the Royal Saxonian Army of 1810-15. Our homepage:
http://www.grenadierbataillon-von-spiegel.de
At the moment our side is only in German , an English version will follow soon.
Your homepage is very interesting and informative. Perhaps we meet ourselves once at any Reenactment.
Yours sincerely.

As the Battalion's newest recruit, I thought it appropriate that I drop by the guestbook and add my name to history. I look forward to seeing you chaps in the field in the near future. God save the King!

I am an ex-member of the 3rd RGJ & the 2nd RGJ, i found this site,
very interesting about my former regiment in the hard old
days........Knowing that my old battalion the 3rd royal green jacket came from the old 95th.......

I was looking up info relating to the rifle company to enhance our collections of movies about Richard Sharpe. I am getting my first flintlock this summer. I have shot everything from machineguns and cannons to percussion rifles and modern varmit rifles and combat pistoles. This flintlock should be interesting.

As officer commanding the Perth Volunteer Rifle and Artillery Regiment 1860 I congratulate you on a very fine effort.

We have been in existance for over 15 years and continue to improve our drills and shooting skills. Tomorrow I will be matching my Mortimer flintlock rifle against a Baker, and I hope that the gentlemans rifle will win the day.

At present I have 2 Rifle Regiment Officers swords surplus to my needs, both originals and in VG condition.

1. Pat. 1822 Inft. Officers with steel hilt including strung bugle cartouche and steel mtd. leather scab. Etched blade including VR cypher and RIFLE VOLUNTEERS.

2. Pat. 1803 Inft. Off. ( the type that Sharpe should have been using ) with brass hilt incorporating bugle. Traces of blue and gilt on blade, brass mtd. leather scab.

For more details either Email or phone o894075000.

Hi, we're 2 Dutch Napoleonic reenactors coming to Australia in January/February, and would be interested in the dates of events in the Southeast for that period. Bas served in the 3rd Bat 1st Footguards (British NA) and Jikke's a drummer in the new, Netherlands-based 92nd Gordon Highlanders.
Kind regards,
Bas & Jikke

I've heard of your unit, in fact I saw a photograph in
the RAAF newspaper. Anyway good to see things are going fine, I belong to the Perth Volunteer Rifles & Artillery Regiment, Colour Sgt.Wise to be correct, I'm trying to obtain a set of mess tins like the type you have, I have tried all the disposal stores over here in Perth ,but no luck, I'll keep trying, and hopefully I'll find a set.

Keep up the good work,Maj.Sharpe would be pleased,I now have
all the Sharpe books and all the videos (that I'm aware of)
good luck all the best

Congratulations to Vernon and John on setting up an excellent website. The information is extremely comprehensive and very informative. The pictures illustrating the text are classics, and the gallery pages tell the story of a very active re-enactment group.
