It's a family affair

Taminick is an annual event aimed primarily at re-enactors rather than the public. The event is held in early October each year at the North Eastern Muzzle Loaders (NEML) Association rifle range near Wangaratta in northern Victoria. The NEML invites military re-enactment organisations from any period equipped with black powder fire arms - an event typically includes groups from English Civil War, Napoleonic, American Civil War and Victorian eras.

Re-enactment groups set up a period encampment for their particular eras, participate in a drill competition, dinners and dances, and also use the range facilities for a variety of group and individual musketry competitions.

The 95th have won the drill competition on a number of occasions, and are competitive in target shooting events.

The event provides an unparalleled opportunity for groups from different eras to compare and contrast skills in an outstanding rural setting.

See our event calendar for details about the next Taminick.
