Conservation of species and ecosystems is a core interest of natural history
groups and field naturalists.
Some of the ways in which this is put into action include
-
documentation of the natural history of the area
- education, including natural history displays,
bushwalks, talks to other groups, and natural history publications,
- serving on committees of various kinds
- providing background information to to inquiries, and for preparation of
management plans,
and responding when submissions and comments are invited
- working with Catchment Managements, Parks Vic and DSE in caring for the
environment
- by making informed comment on conservation issues.
