2nd Prahran Scout Group is part of the Gleneira Stonnington District (which stretches from Albert Park to Chadstone to Moorabbin). This district lies within the South Metro Region, taking in the area from Prahran to the Mornington Peninsular.
The Scout movement world wide has 28.5 million members in 217 countries. Australia has 125,000 members of which some 35,000 are in Victoria. All Scouts regardless of Race or Religion share the same basic promise and ideals as originally inspired by Lord Baden-Powell of Gilwell in 1907.
Scouting is the largest youth organisation in the world today.    Scouting is a training organisation teaching the youth of our community (both girls and boys) to become more self reliant, more aware and more responsible citizens.

Joey Scouts

Joey Scouts, for girls and boys aged 6 and 7 years old, being the youngest of the five sections in Scouting, begin their Scouting by participating in a programme of games activities and stories, which highlights caring, sharing and nature.

By working in ad hoc small groups they learn about themselves and others, and develop a sense of self worth. They meet once a week and do all sorts of exiting things like:
Learn new songs, Dress up, Play lots of new games, Learn how to make things, Go on exciting outings, Make lots of friends, and lots, lots more.

Our Joey Scout Mob is in recess at present, due to a lack of Leaders.

Cub Scouts

Cub Scouts, for girls and boys aged 8 to 10 years old, have lots of fun and adventure.
Some of the great things that Cub Scouts can do are:
Know how to use a compass - Cook on an open fire -
Play lots of different games - Go on a weekend camp - Make new friends

One of the best things about Cub Scouts is that they can learn a lot of useful things and earn badges to wear on their uniforms. Some of the badges that Cub Scouts can earn are Codes and Signaling, Electronics, Sports, Fishing, Boating, Masks, Space, Writing and more.

Being a Cub Scout means you can have fun, play games and learn things all at the same time.

There is a Cub Scout Pack meeting once a week on Monday at 7.15pm at 2nd. Prahran Scout Hall, 92 Williams Road, Prahran (near the corner with High Street).
