The Scout Hall is located in Dellfield Drive, Lower Templestowe. We are fortunate to have a large hall with kitchen, storage facilities, and two upstairs club rooms. Click here to see a map of the local area including the Scout Hall location.

Next to the Scout Hall is Dellfield Drive Park, which the Scout Group utilizes regularly. There is a specially built campfire fireplace with bench seating. The park also has playground equipment and a large grassed area used by the Group for outdoor activities..

Leaders

The Scout Association of Australia places great importance on the proper and professional training of its Adult Leaders. The Training Program, (for a Wood Badge) as it is known in Scouting, has been providing comprehensive leadership training since 1919. All Leaders at the Group are fully qualified to Scouts Australia standards.

Committee

The 2nd Templestowe Scout Group Committee is made up of parents who run the affairs the group. The Committee meets once a month for a 45 minute meeting. The main activities of the Committee are to impose and collect yearly fees; pay bills; organize group functions; and to resolve matters bought to the attention of the Committee by leaders, members and parents.

Fund Raising

As a family, you will be expected to do your bit to support fund raising activities toward the continuing purchase and maintenance of this equipment and other resources of the Group.

The Group has 4 fundraising activities per year. Three of these activities involve selling chocolates and biscuits. The major fundraiser for the year is the distribution of telephone books. All families are expected to help out with fundraising.

Membership

The current membership fee is $150* p.a. and $100* p.a. for additional family members. The membership fee is used to register each individual member with Scouts Australia, cover the Group's administration and training expenses, cost of  equipment, badges and certificates as well as the Group's ongoing expenses like electricity, gas, insurance etc. Fees also assist the running of the Scout Association of Australia.

Uniform

A uniform is also needed and can be purchased from Snowgum stores. By buying the uniform through these stores you are helping Scouting across Australia. The nearest Snowgun store to the Templestowe area is at 535 Whitehorse Rd, Mitcham 3132.

When buying a uniform, you do not need to purchase any badges or scarves, as these are provided free of charge at the appropriate time by your the Group (covered by your subscriptions).

Equipment

The Group owns a large range of camping and adventure equipment such as tents, ropes, cooking gear and canoes. The cost of this equipment is met by membership fees fund raising events. When your child joins Scouts, he or she will be benefiting from the efforts of the community over the years to acquire these resources.
