Funded by CityLink, in metropolitan Melbourne, Schools for the Environment provides professional development opportunities, practical and technical resources to teachers and schools.
It aims to effectively integrate environmental education into their teach for middle years (Level 4-8).
The program features:

Education Kit
Covering eight key environmental learning areas, the kit provides a comprehensive resource across all curriculum areas.
It features Plant Propagation, Koori Heritage and Habitat Creation and Enhancement.
The kit contains CSF links, background information, a resource including web sites (with ratings!) plus activities, worksheets and other cross-curricular activity ideas.

Revegetation Project Support
The Schools for the Environment program offers physical, technical, financial and hands-on support to primary and secondary schools. Each year Melbourne schools may apply for support with their revegetation project.  Projects that involveme other community stakeholders, have a strategic outcome and are integrated into the school curriculum are encouraged. Support can be provided for revegetation works either in their school grounds or in the surrounding environs.

educator Development
Greening Australia offers educators a chance to be involved with our annual forum held in February.  Every year educators are given a toolbox full of information, resources, contacts and ideas in order to implement environmental change in their school communities.

On Wednesday 18 February 2004 the years program was launched at the third annual Schools for the Environment forum.
This year's forum, 'Toolbox for Environmental Change', outlined the benefits of transformative education with an emphasis on personal growth and development.  Educators had the opportunity to explore successful models for environmental change in schools.
Over 200 of Victoria’s educators took part in the day, alongside over 60 representatives from Victoria’s leading education and environmental organisations.

Revegetation Calendar
Developed in 2004, the revegetation calendar contains information and activities that you and your students can do as part of, or independent
to, a revegetation project.  This easy to use calendar gives a month by month breakdown of how to implement your very own revegetation project.

Every month contains background information, activity ideas and CSF links.  There are also ‘Did You Know’ facts for the students, a list of environmental events for each month and an activity sheet for the 'outdoor classroom'.
