Jones Road School Crossing confirmation

Vickie Burke, Cheryl Humphrey and Kerri Marshall are pleased to confirm the installation of a new school crossing on Jones Road, (adjacent to St Johns Church) this fiscal year.

VicRoads warrant requirements were met in October, 2004.  Submissions to the Traffic Treatments Annual program were prepared for funding of the project (we believed) with the 2005/2006 financial year.  Unfortunately this funding did not appear in the MPSC Budget.

Vickie, Cheryl and Kerri worked diligently emailing, writing to MPSC, preparing and presenting a petition to the community as well as attending a night council meeting at Tyabb and finally presenting verbal statements at a MPSC Section 223 Submission Committee Hearing on 4th July, 2006.

STIC would like to personally thank, Trish Sullivan (Somerville Primary School), Des Noack (St. Brendan's Primary School) and Colin Sloper (Somerville Rise Primary School) for their letters of support for this project.  These letters were also presented to MPSC.
