Who is a refugee?
In the normal sense of the word, a refugee is any person who leaves the place
where he or she lives to seek safety from danger. more

Who is SAIL?
SAIL involves about 700 people every week. This group is
comprised of 450 Sudanese community members all of whom have recently arrived
in Australia from North Africa. more

Frequently Asked Questions
We have a team of enthusiastic and dedicated tutors, who range from kindergarten
and ESL teachers, to engineering students and high schoolers. You do not need
to be a teacher or have teaching experience to join in (however, any experience
as a teacher or with children is obviously an advantage). more
How did SAIL begin?
SAIL began with a plea from community leaders late in 2000. They
requested some language support for Sudanese refugee children outside of school
hours. more
