Kilmore Races - Saturday 27th August 2005

The Rotary Club of Heidelberg was represented by an eclectic group of 22 at the Kilmore Races held on Saturday 27th August.

The Geoff Purvis "Kilmore Racehorse of the Year" award was presented by our Rotarian Brad Purvis to the connections of "Spireeva" the winning horse, in memory of his late father Geoff, a Past President and much valued member of this club.

Geoff's wife Val and his grandchildren also attended the day and, along with Rotarians and guests, participated in some great fellowship. A glorious autumn day enhanced our day at the races and the day was made even better by the delicious meal served in the Trackside Bistro and a few collects for our punting members.

Special thanks to our Rotarian Bookmaker Steve Lynn for the $220 worth of betting vouchers which were greatly appreciated. We look forward to sponsoring this award again next year.
