John Walton presents a collection of Rotary Club banners he collected from his travels to India and Pakistan |
We have had India on a list of places to visit for some time. So when the Indian GSE team stayed with our club earlier this year and extended an invitation to visit them we decided to take advantage of their hospitality.
Nine years ago the club was involved with another GSE team from Pakistan and over the years we have maintained contact with some of them too. So our invitation to look up old friends was extended to Pakistan as well as India .
Because of the distance from Australia and not wishing to over extend our welcome with friends, we decided to do a tour of Rajasthan as well for two and a half weeks. It turned out to be one of the holidays of a lifetime and possibly one day the club members would be interested in seeing a few pictures, (some of the 1500 we took).
The Rotary clubs visited were Varanasi Central, Varanasi South, Renukoot in India and Lahore Midtown in Pakistan.
