Roomers magazine comes out 3 times a year, jam packed with writing and art. In it you’ll find a diverse range of writers contributing fiction and feature articles as well as poetry, recipes, information on local services and much more.
Almost all of the content is written by rooming house residents or ex-residents as well as residents of supported residential services (SRSs) and hostels.
The magazine is distributed to all rooming houses and SRSs in the City of Port Phillip as well as through the libraries and local services. The magazine provides a valuable space for the rooming house community to share its stories as well as the opportunity for residents to find out more about services in the area.
Here’s what one recent contributor wrote to us:
“Dear Roomers, I would like to thank u so much for sending me Issue #34, I really appreciate yr time. It is such an informative and exciting mag, reading other peoples experiences and letting people share those experiences through the mag is absolutely priceless. There is no other Mag like it.
It makes people feel important because someone is listening.
thank you again, DS.”
