Joan Barker nee Angus
Elizabeth Joan Barker, nee Angus, was born in Adelaide, S.A. first child of Salvation Army officers William Angus and Hilda Angus (nee Cairns). She travelled with her parents to appointments in South Australia, Victoria and Western Australia.

After several administrative positions Joan trained as a Salvation Army officer in Petersham, Sydney. After commissioning she was appointed back to the College as a training officer before appointments in North Sydney, Chatswood, Temora and Cootamundra, Ryde and Inverell.

Following her marriage to Ian Barker in 1977 they established the Doveton Commnity Welfare Centre for The Salvation Army. Further appointments followed at The Anchorage (Abbotsford), The Basin Farm and Kardinia Centre in Geelong. In 1999 they purchased a confectionery wholesale and retail business in Dandenong.
