Irene Hope Barker, born in Dandenong on 22nd January, 1956.

Attended Dandenong East Primary years Prep to 4, Harkaway Primary years 5 and 6, Doveton High Form 1 to 4 and Dandenong High forms 5 and 6. On completion worked for the AMP Society in Melbourne for 2 years before traveling overseas where she married Duncan James Ferguson in Georgetown, Ontario, Canada on 4th September, 1976. On return to Australia in 1978 worked for various companies mainly in the accounting field. .
