Hope Woodhead nee Roberts
Hope Woodhead (nee Roberts) was the fifth child of Federick and Amy Roberts. Completing her primary schooling she worked at the Methodist Babies' Home prior to nursing training at Epworth and the Royal Women's Hospitals.

After several appointments as matron of small country hospitals Hope was appointed in charge of the Railways Creche at Flinders Street Station.

In 1942 she married Arthur Edward Woodhead a commercial traveller with Lever brothers. Whilst Lever's Tasmanian manager Arthur had, single-handed, brought the Tasmanian Government to accept responsibility for the upkeep of the Island of the Dead, off Port Arthur.

Hope and Arthur operated retail stores in Camberwell and Rye before opening a real estate agency in Sorrento. Arthur's ill-health forced a move to Ormond .

Later Hope was to care for her nephew's invalid wife and their family before moving to Noble Park in 1977.
