Lysterfield Sailing Club
Sailing for People with Disabilities and for School Children.
We extend a warm invitation to organisations, groups and individuals to attend a forum on establishing a regular Sailability Program at Lysterfield Lake for people with disabilities and interested community members.
This exciting event is being organised by a partnership of Sailability Victoria and the Lysterfield Sailing Club and will be held in the City of Casey Council Chambers, Magid Drive, Narre Warren, on the 8th December from 6.30 to 8.30pm. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided.
This forum aims to bring together individuals with disabilities, disability organisations, interested volunteers and sailors to share information and discuss strategies to establish a regular Sailability program in the surrounding municipalities of Knox, Casey, Yarra Ranges and Dandenong.
Your involvement will contribute to the success of this program. It would be appreciated if you could also promote the forum to anyone you believe may be interested. To register your interest in attending the forum or for further information please contact Jasmine Pickford on 9705 5349.

All boats and safety gear are provided. Please phone Anne Pries on 9763 6939 for more information. The course is accredited by Yachting Australia, costs $125.00 and is very popular.
Rowville Little Athletics Club
There are now over one hundred registered Rowville Little Athletes running, jumping and throwing each week, (and that doesn’t include the other hundred or so who are members of the Rowville Lakes Club!)
In early November Knox enjoyed our first twilight meet for 2005/6. Thanks to the sponsorship of Tony Faella at Repair Rite Motors we could record performances and eat under new lighting sourced by a new generator. Tony is also responsible for cooking and co-ordinating our BBQ at twilight meets. At the next one he’ll add steak sandwiches to the menu. We appreciate all your work and support Tony!,
Also in November, combined with athletes from the Knox venue, children ventured to Ringwood for a day of relays against other centres in the Eastern Region. In beautiful conditions and with painted faces and sprayed hair, boys and girls ran in a range of relay events. As well as having plenty of fun, many came home with ribbons having qualified for state championships in December. Good luck!
Each week little athletes have the opportunity to create a personal best (PB) by improving on their best performance in any event. Read the February 2006 edition of the News to find out who has gained their Bronze Award for reaching ten PBs. It’s still not too late to join us!
