Councillor's Column
A farewell message from Nick Wakeling
It has been an honour to represent the residents of Rowville, Ferntree Gully and Knoxfield as the Friberg Ward Councillor over the past three years. I have had the pleasure of meeting with many residents and community organisations during this period.
Some may have noticed I did not seek re-election as the Friberg Ward Councillor (November Council Elections) as I have been fortunate to be selected as the Liberal candidate for the seat of Ferntree Gully and will stand in the forthcoming (November 2006) State Election.
As a local Councillor, I have endeavoured to advocate for the needs of our community and push for urgently needed upgrades. During the past Council term, I have been proud of the progress achieved in Friberg Ward, but there is certainly still more that is needed for this community.
I trust that the person you have chosen as my successor will continue advocating for further improvements in the Ward.
I thank you for the opportunity to represent you as a local Councillor and look forward to meeting with many of you over the coming months during the lead up to next year’s
State Election.
