She then married and dedicated her life to being a wife and mother of three. She began painting when her children were very young and looked upon it as just a hobby. Judy was essentially self taught, studying the great masters and working through problems as they came along as well as doing a number of short courses. Painting is now the main focus and priority in her life - a hobby turned obsession. From her vast experience of pain, love and joy she paints imagines conjured by music, religious experiences and love of the Bible, cosmology, astronomy, particle physics and all things beautiful. Judy's style varies and continues to change, she relishes this as a feature of her work, she is not tied down to any particular style.
My work is the result of a compulsion to paint the images in which I perceive the Universe. Music and intellectual concepts sometimes provoke an intense desire in me to put on canvas a visual expression of feelings and personal reactions to these stimuli.I am hoping to find a person who loves my work and wants to promote it.I see the whole world as a holy place, a reflection of the glory of an infinite, yet loving God. Physics, religion and classical music are intimately connected in my psyche, and each play an important role in providing inspiration for my painting.
I relish the freedom to choose any style or mode of expression, and do not wish to develop an instantly recognisable "Judy Racz" style of painting, or to be classified as a particular kind of artist.
In searching fro the appropriate way to express my ideas, I rely on the works of great artists, such as Chagall, Max Ernst, Cezanne and Dali. They are my great teachers, who give me courage to explore and to dare to trust my own judgement ultimately.
