Supporters Kit

You can Download the Supporters Kit here
(Note: there are slight format differences between this version and the hard copy version of the supporters kit)

This kit has been prepared with the assistance of VUT Social Work students Anne Dillon, Jackie Orwin, Katherine Harris and Robyn Roberts, along with campaign volunteers Nicole Mackay and Svetlana Krstevskie.

In requesting a supporters kit you have taken an active role in supporting the campaign to release Heather Osland from prison.

The contents are divided into 2 section:

1.       Information and Letters

·         A letter from Heather

·         Background Information about Heather's situation

·         Information about the campaign so far

2.   Ways to actively support the campaign

·         A petition to the Parliament of Victoria. Photocopy, circulate and get the petition signed by such people as family, friends, work colleagues and others in your networks. A stall in your local shopping centre or railway station could be a way of gaining more signatures and supports for a pardon for Heather.

·         A guide to assist you in writing a letter in support of a pardon for Heather to the Attorney General of Victoria.

·         A practical guide for lobbying your Local Member of Parliament.

·         A poster "When will Heather Osland's imprisonment end?" which could be displayed in a prominent place in your local community such as a local shopping, medical or community centre, club meeting rooms, library or railway station.

·         Other ways to raise community awareness about the injustices Heather has faced include:

Trying to get information, letter & articles published in your local newspaper

Organising a meeting in your local community. Invite your local Member of Parliament and other significant, influential community members.

From the Release Heather Osland Group.
