Comment:   MISCARRIAGES OF JUSTICE AUSTRALIA (MOJAUS) extends the offer of rent-free accommodation to Volunteers willing to lobby and support the release of Heather Osland. Accommodation is set on 2 acres of manicured rainforest, West of Mackay, Central North East Queensland. You would have computer keyboarding & telephone skills and a strong commitment to social justice. An understanding of the Criminal Justice System, Domestic Violence, and Prisons an advantage. Prefer current drivers licence.

God, how I wish I could change the law! My ex has caused m

Comment:   This is a tremendously important website which should help people understand the domestic violence and motivate them to help their family and friends who live under such unbearable conditions. If more people would intervene, women would not have to what Ms. Osland did.

Comment:   Dear Heather, I am studying Womens Studies at Deakin University and am currently writing an essay on violence against women. I am focusing on your case and the incredible injustice of the whole situation. I don't know much yet about the details but am about to embark on a thorough essay. I will use the knowledge I acquire to hopefully assist you and your case, and if I can't do anything official, I know a lot of people and will not cease to spread your story to people of all ages and backgrounds.

Comment:   I am a womens studies student at Deakin Uni and have just had a discussion in class about the violence against women in todays society. It pains me to hear about the oppression that women are faced with and how men still take advantage of physical strength in order to disempower and victimise women. I strongly support your fight Heather and you have my full aid with anything I can and will do.

Comment:   I am a Deakin Uni student currently researching violence against women. It pains me to see the various types of violence there is not to mention the amount of these crimes that are committed. A woman is beaten in her own home every 15 seconds in US, worldwide it would be far more. Keep fighting Heather, I will help you in any way that I can.

Comment:   why must women like Heather be continually punished after what has already been a life sentence at the hand of someone they once loved with all their heart. Heather has already had her entire life including her hopes and dreams shattered, why is our legal system so blind and unjust?

Comment:   How sad it is that we live in a society where Heather has been let down once again. Someone in the Australian Government should be accountable and free this wondeful lady and friend. I'm disgusted that her final chance at release has been negative. Hope! Heather and know we are hear to support you. I listened to your message and I am so sad for you. 7th September 2001.

Comment:   I am a 4th year social work and 3rd year backelor of arts student at LaTrobe University Bendigo I am researching domestic violence in Australia from the 1940s to 1980s. I have interviewed a victim and am currently analysing her story. It was suggested I find out more about Heather,as there are many similarities to my participant's and Heather's story. I cannot begin to say how touched I am by Heather. I heard tonight that her appeal has been lost. Keep fighting Heather. Never give up
