The Brigade Currently has two tankers and one quickfill
Tanker 1 (shown below): is the newest of the two and as such is used more having more power and speed allowing quicker response times.
This tanker is one of the latest CFA designs
Features
- Great ground clearance for better access to rough ground
- Electronic water level gauges
- Hydraulic Breathing apparatus storage
- Has a tank capacity of 3000 litres.
- A pump capable of pumping 500 liters per minute.
- Carries breathing apparatus, a chainsaw and a generator.
- Roll Over Protection (ROPS) to keep crew traveling in the back safer
Tanker 2(shown below): is used as a support for tanker 1 during major emergencies and other times when two tankers are required.
- Has a tank capacity of 2000 litres.
- A pump capable of pumping 350 liters per minute.
- Carries breathing apparatus, chainsaw and a portable pump.
Quick Fill (shown below): This was brought privately by the brigade. Imported from the USA to be used as
a quick filling point for trucks. It is set up next to a dam or other water point and is a great time saver.
This means that trucks no longer have to use their own pumps to fill out of these water points.
Other Equipment:Red hill fire brigade has a lot of other equipment including:
- a High pressure water monitor (to put out a high volume of water to the one spot)
- A fire extinguisher trailer to go around and service local fire extinguishers
- several chainsaws
- B.B.Q's (for catering at large fire scenes)
