George Samuel Perrin became Conservator of Forests for Victoria in 1888. Prior to this, he had worked from 1880 as a ranger in charge of Mount Burr Forest Reserve in South Australia, then in 1885 be became Conservator of Forests in Tasmania. He was born in England; he died in 1900.
