Public speaking can be fun. Yes, fun. You may think “terrifying” is
the right word to describe getting up before a group of people.
Hillside Rostrum would like to introduce you to a different side
of public speaking.

Friendly, relaxed and supportive — Hillside Rostrum aims to give you the speaking skills and experience to conquer nerves and develop
self-confidence. You share your journey with people who experience
the same fears.

Each meeting is run to a formal agenda, but there is always scope for spontaneity and fun. There is supportive feedback from trained critics whose aim is to gently encourage and develop new members’ skills.

Find out that sharing your story and your views can be rewarding. Make new friends and learn new skills that will benefit you in your workplace and in social situations.

I promise to submit myself to the discipline of this Rostrum club, and to endeavour to advance its ideals and enrich its fellowship.

I will defend freedom of speech in the community and will try at all times to think truly and speak clearly.

I promise not to be silent when I ought to speak.
