The Langwarrin Rotary Club was officially chartered on 17 May 1982, having been sponsored by the Cranbourne Rotary Club. The original membership were business and professional men in the Langwarrin area. The first Charter President was the late John Sawyer, who is now a Paul Harris Fellow.

The original meeting place of the Club was at the Amstel Golf Club in Cranbourne, then there followed a round circuit of the Baxter Tavern, then the Twins Restaurant, Langwarrin Community Centre, then finally back to the Baxter Tavern, where honorary member Tommy Carter entertains every Sunday with his jazz band.

Some of the projects undertaken by the Club in the past include

a) Donating to Langwarrin CFA for the purchase of "Jaws of Life"
b) Helped establish the Nepean Respite Centre in Seaford
c) Built the skatepark located on the Frankston-Cranbourne Road in Langwarrin for the local children
d) Raised money for the provision of water pump for construction of a well in Naga, a small  remote village in the Phillipines
e) Donated supplies of books to a needy school in the Solomon Islands

More recently, the Club has been involved with helping to raise money for the Skye Fire Brigade to purchase a new tender, and also to raise funds for the Frankston Chaplaincy.

In 2003-2004, the Club was very proud to be the recipient of a Presidential Citation from Jonathan Majiyagbe, President of Rotary International, for their services to Rotary during the year.

In 2004-2005 we held the first Easter Egg Hunt at the McClelland Gallery and Sculpture Park, which was attended by hundreds of families, hungry to find the eggs! It was a beautiful day and a good time was had by all. More importantly, it raised much need funds for both local, national and international projects

Locally, each year we arrange scholarships for the local Langwarrin schools, co-ordinate with the Scouts for the annual Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal and various other ad-hoc projects, more recently the National Tree Day, helping local plant 1500 trees in Lloyd Park.
