Rotary
membership
is
by
invitation
only
and
after
a
member
of
our
club
has
opened
a
membership
classification
for
a
prospective
member.
Membership
is
restricted
to
one
from
each
vocation.
Various
club
committees
check
to
see
that
the
classifications
are
a
true
one
for
the
prospective
member'
s
vocation,
that
he
or
she
is a
person
of
integrity
and
that
they
hold
a
position
of
authority
in
their
profession.
Then
usually
as
there
is
only
one
person
nominated,
the
Board
of
Directors
approves
the
nomination.
The
prospective
member
is
then
interviewed
and
should
they
accept
membership
nomination,
their
name
is
published
in
our
weekly
club
bulletin
to
enable
all
members
to
be
aware
of
the
prospective
membership.
When
a
person
accepts
membership,
they
are
allocated
to
one
of
the
committees
on
which
they
serve
usually
for
one
year
under
a
Chairman
and
they
are
also
allocated
to
an
experienced
Rotarian
who
will
act
as
an
interim
guide
through
the
initial
few
weeks
of
membership.
This
Rotary
Club
strives
for
a
membership
that
is
an
up-to-date
and
progressive
representation
of
its
community's
business,
vocational,
and
professional
interests.
Membership
in
Rotary
offers
a
number
of
benefits,
including:
-
Effecting change within the community
-
Developing leadership skills
-
Gaining an understanding of and having an impact on international humanitarian issues
