Vocational Service Projects.
One idea for the program this year is to introduce a couple of Vocational Visits; that is have either a speaker, or a combination of a speaker and site visit in a number of Vocational areas to provide members an opportunity to learn more about different vocations.
We did not have the opportunity to conduct a Vocational Visit during the year.
Fred Payne has agreed to represent the Club and district in the Police Leadership Mentoring Program. District approached our club asking for a suitable member (recent President was the preferred district option) to participate in this program which was highlighted at District Conference. In the near future I will ask Fred to give a brief review to the club of what the program is and what is hoped to be achieved by the program.
Fred Payne worked incredibly well with Inspector Andrew Humberstone during the year on this program. It is worth mentioning how much Andrew contributed to our club throughout the year, helping on a number of events including GDF08. Andrew’s recent presentation was outstanding, giving members an excellent insight into his role as Inspector in the Yarra Ranges Region.
We will continue to participate in the Computer 4 Kids & Community Program.
We will continue to develop the Sister Club relationship with the Rotary Club of Daylesford by attending a function at Daylesford and in return hosting our friends from Daylesford at a function at our club.
As mentioned earlier, we had contact with Daylesford during GDF 08 and at District Conference.
