Members of the Rotary Club of Hoppers Crossing went on a work party to East Timor to build a Primary school at Balibar. They were:

They had great two weeks, arriving at Dilli on Friday morning the 28th April and departed Friday afternoon12th May. They were the sixth team and the first for the year.
Charlie said that they never felt threatened at all and stayed at presidential compound in comfortable accommodation guarded by 19 guards about 12km by road about 5km as the crow flies, situated in Balibar 800m above sea level. Great views of Dilli and the sea. No flies, mosquitos or any other things that bite. Weather was 30deg no wind and clear skies.
Highlights.
Meeting and having photos taken with President Xanana Gusmao and first lady Kristy Sword Gusmao .
Working with local Timorese to build their school who seem very interested in education and learning to speak English
Had new Rotary experience working on this worth while project
Mix with friendly and welcoming locals and experiencing Village life.
Great to have been part of this much needed Rotary project.
