Elsternwick
Village was surveyed in 1851 and lies along the Elster Creek. It is
now a thriving, leafy area in South East Melbourne containing a cosmopolitan
strip shopping centre, one of the City's remaining mansions in Rippon
Lea, a number of museums, parks and a golf course. One
can trace the development of the area by the many fine examples
of heritage architecture from Victorian to contemporary. Well serviced
by trains, trams and buses, with nearby access to the beach, Elsternwick
is a rich mix of cultures demonstrated by the variety of shops and
restaurants. |
