Annual Art Show

This year we again ran our Art Show in conjunction with the Dromana Primary School, who provided the venue and considerable help in setting up and manning the entrance desks etc.. Although earnings were slightly down from the previous year the Show was deemed a success, the extent and quality of the display showing steady improvement.

Christmas Carol Sponsoring

As usual our Club ran this event again this year, all proceeds going to the Salvation Army. As well as attendance by the Salvation Army Band and the Uniting Church Choir we also enjoyed performances by the Dromana Primary School Choir & Orchestra, Charity Busker Tony McKenzie and Eila Peacock who sang the Song of Dromana.

New Drinking Fountain at the Dromana Pier

The club recently replaced an old drinking fountain with this smart new one.

CENTENARY PROJECT

Our original plan was to provide a clocktower for Dromana but this was blocked by the Shire and Planning Authority. The Club has now gained approval (design and location) for a new Barbecue and Shelter Building on the Foreshore at Dromana. The kitset components are now almost complete and it is hoped to hold two working bees to install the facility within the next four weeks.>

Rural & Peninsula Disability Service Changes its Name to "Beyond Disability"

Assistance by our Club to this service organisation has become a regular occurrence with our Rast President, David Lea, now the Deputy CEO and our Treasurer, David Buchanan the coordinator for client assistance on the Southern end of the Mornington Peninsula. From time to time the members provide assistance with the computer maintenance and installation of computers in the client’s premises. This work continues as opportunities arise.

OTHER PROJECTS

The Club is also participating in other projects such as Interplast, Bicycles for Solomon Islands Police, MedicAlert, Rotahomes, Australia Day Celebrations and various other local activities.
