In 2 years time (22 May 2010 to be precise) the 1st Signal Regiment will be celebrating its 50th Birthday.

The current CO has already commenced planning for 50th Birthday celebrations based around the Regiment at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane.

The celebrations will be conducted over a week and will include (but not limited to),

a re-enactment of the move from Ingleburn by form of a relay run,
a Banner Parade (which will also be the finish of the relay),
Regimental Dinners,
Formal ball in the city,
Open day with current and old equipment,
a display of unit history, and
possibly the turning of the first soil for the new Regiment which is currently under planning.

This week will be officially sponsored and run by the Regiment (with the help from some local olds) so it should be a good week with all of the bells and whistles.

It is planned to create a website specifically to keep everyone informed, I will pass on the URL via this means when it is raised. Thanks Slaps
