Norman Mills

Norman is a former accountant and has been a member of the Peninsula Woodturners Guild for 13 years.

He is particularly interested in burl work, mistletoe, fiddleback and figured grain timbers in Australian hardwoods.

He is keen on finishing unusually shaped pieces of found wood from the bush and the sea shore.

He uses a Teknatool lathe with stiffening and modified outside turning equipment.

This is a symbolic piece dedicated to the number of fathers, sons, brothers and daughters of' many fine Australians who, hastily trained, poorly equipped and sometimes badly directed, gave their lives in the services to protect Australia and the Australian way of life, so that we who were saved could continue to enjoy the many bounties that this country can provide for us and the generations ahead.
