
Ken Stubbs was born in West Preston in 1926 and he and his wife Nanne Ken have two daughters and a son, four granddaughters and one grandson..
His trade in the early years was Sheetmetal and Panel Beating. After he married, he and Nanne, went into a Pet Shop which expanded to encompass Hardware, Produce and Briquette stores.
He built his own home in Glenroy and later renovated terrace houses in Carlton and Fitzroy.
After twenty years in the retail business he sold up and the family moved to their holiday house at Seaford, where they bought a Bicycle Shop which was managed for three years by Nanne and their Foster son, while Ken worked part time for Armaguard for 12 years.
While looking at woodturning books in a bookshop in Melbourne, Ken met an old friend who talked him into going along to the Peninsula Woodturning Guild, where he has been an interested and active member for 12 years.
Other hobbies have been Lions International for 29 years, training and judging German Shepherds, leatherwork, leadlighting, and more recently Paper Tole.
