Bill Sewell

He was educated at boarding school where he did some woodturning. He served in the R.A.N. and on discharge, graduated in Medicine. After being given some parts of a homemade lathe by an old patient he made up his own lathe and had a few lessons in woodturning by a woodwork teacher at the Army Apprentice School at Balcombe

He then acquired a Tough Lathe and for the next twenty years he had a stall at the Red Hill Market to raise money for a home for handicapped children.

Bill is a foundation member of the Peninsula Woodturners Guild
