ORNAMENTAL TURNING GROUP
On the 3rd of December 1992 a small band of turners, interested in the art of ornamental turning decided to form a Group from within the membership of the P.W.G.
There were 8 members at the first meeting and they all showed a great interest in this almost forgotten art. The prime aim of the Group was to exchange ideas on the machine's and equipment that were available for purchase and or to make in the home workshop.
It was discovered that those who had worked in engineering workshops seemed to have an advantage but in the case of Geoff O'Loughlin it was not necessarily so.. We have been meeting now for just over 6 years and have all improved our skills and have broadened our range of knowledge and experience.
We are also members of the "OTGA"the Ornamental Turners Group of Australia which as the name suggests is an Australian wide Group with the same interests.
This Group held their second Annual Seminar in the Clubrooms of the P.W.G. on the 12-13-14 March 99. Our small Group would welcome correspondence from interested parties from any locality and will offer an exchange of ideas on any facet of 'OT' work. Please contact us by email or directly to
