Drill Press Jig

This simple device was originally shown to me by my friend Raymond Sanders of "Beenatree" who has given me his blessing to reproduce the jig and to create a drawing with arbitrary dimensions to share with others.

The jig was originally designed to aid in the production of pens, pencils, perfume applicators and key rings etc. In fact any situation where an accurate vertical hole needs to be drilled in small stock. This has proven to be more convenient than using the ordinary drill press vice.

The area diagonally opposite the cams is, amongst other things, also useful when drilling thin metal (for instance) as the vertical walls prevent the dangerous situation arising where the work piece turns out of control due to drill being caught up in the material being drilled.

Note: The whole construction may be made out of 18mm MDF with 12 mm MDF for the cams or any other suitable material at hand.
