A message from our President
Hello and welcome on behalf of Probus Club of Ballarat South Inc.. I am thrilled to be part of such a great Club and proud to be President for the 2011/12 year.
Our Probus Club has been in existence for almost 3 years, and has a strong membership of 130. We are a very active Club with many interest groups, ensuring something for everyone and guaranteeing lots of fun times, fellowship and friendship. Please, delve into our website to discover some of the things we do and places we have been - and see the photos of people having a great time. This is what Probus is all about.
I have an enthusiastic Committee alongside me, and am looking forward to the year ahead and to sharing the journey with a great bunch of people.

Why Probus?
The name "Probus" is derived from joining abbreviations of the words "Professional" and "Business".
Membership is open to all retired or semi-retired people, whether or not they were in engaged in Professional or Business careers.
All Probus Groups are formed by Rotary Clubs, and once started, are autonomous.
Probus Clubs are not like, for example, Service Clubs.
We are a not-for-profit Organisation, non-Political, non-Sectarian, and do not engage in fund-raising.
Joining a Probus Club provides you with an opportunity to make new friends, engage in activities you wish to, and avoid isolation and boredom.
Why Probus Club of Ballarat South Inc.?
Membership is not limited to people who live in Ballarat South, neither are residents from Ballarat South in the majority. We have Members from all Suburbs and surrounding Districts of Ballarat.
We are Ballarat's newest Probus Club, and really enthusiastic. We want our Probus Club to be the best.
When we started in 2008, 110 Members thought it a good idea to join. Here is a picture of those Foundation Members:
