Melbourne is situated on Port Phillip Bay. On the west of Port Phillip Bay is the Bellarine Peninsula, with Geelong and Queenscliffe. On the east is the Mornington Peninsula, with Frankston, Sorrento and Portsea.

East of Port Phillip Bay is Westernport Bay, where you can see Phillip and French Islands.
